February 08 Weighin Catch-upWe're way way behind with posting our weighin updates!! Our weighin last Friday, Feb. 1st was even worse than the week before! Joey gained a pound or so and Alison stayed dead even with the previous week. Needless to say it wasn't a very encouraging week.
But, things are looking up this week! Alison weighed in this morning at 197.8, which is a loss of 2.3 lbs from last week and an overall loss of 5.6 lbs! Not too bad for the first month, but hopefully things will start to go more smoothly now. Joey is still down 11.7 as of 2 weeks ago (not counting last week's weighin) but he didn't weighin this morning, so he's going to do that tomorrow morning and then I will post the results. We just need to keep it up, and have more focus in the coming weeks! January 28 Friday's weighinUgh. We didn't have such a stellar week last week - Joey stayed the same and Alison lost .2 lbs. .2!
We need to have a better week this week. January 19 Joey's Week 2 Weigh InJoey's weigh in for today was 364.9... for a total of 4 lbs for this week and 11.7 total for him! That brings our team weightloss to 5 even pounds this week, and 14.6 total so far. Hopefully we'll have some big numbers next week! January 18 Alison's week 2 weight updateThis week was a challenging one with finding time to workout and eat right. I weighed in this morning at 200.3, for a total loss of 1 pound this week and 2.9 overall. Getting closer! Joey wasn't able to weigh in this morning, so he will tomorrow instead. Hopefully he can make up for my lacking this week.
Our plan for the weekend is to come up with a menu for the next two weeks so that when we get groceries we will be able to buy what we need for healthy meals. It will also help us plan ahead and keep us from staring into the fridge wondering what to eat. If you have any good recipes, send them our way! :) January 11 week 1 weight updateWeigh-in day was today. Alison has been a champ at working out - 5 of the last 6 days, but it's not showing up on the sale yet. She's down to 201.3, for a loss of 1.9 lbs so far. Joey wasn't able to get to the gym as much this week, but he's had a great week and is down to 368.9! That's a loss of 7.7 pounds, way to go! That brings our team total to 9.6 for the week. Not too bad, but we can do better.
We're still doing well with cutting out the pop - we haven't had one since December 31st! Alison's goals for next week are to working on eating better, and keep up the working out. Joey will be challenged with working out next week as he will be busy with work, but hopefully he can get to the gym too.
Here's to a great week! January 07 baby stepsWe did well at working out this weekend - we went to the gym both Saturday and Sunday. No small miracle there. I had I hopes for today, but I'm not feeling totally well and Joey isn't able to go tonight either. This shouldn't be an excuse for me not to go, but it's going to take an act of Congress to get me to the gym tonight.
Eating well is going so-so. Back in December, we decided to give up pop (soda) for the month of January - even before we decided to do this Biggest Loser thing. Not drinking pop is working well with our mission to lose weight, though. It's been 7 days without soda, and I think we'll make it to the end of the month without it - hopefully longer! January 04 our mission statementWe are entering the Million Pound Match-Up because we need some motivation. Keeping this space will keep us accountable. It's tough to skip out on the gym or eat that candy bar when we have to come type our progress in here. We've started this journey more times than we can count - we have a hard time finishing what we start, and we want to finish something, for once!
We'll succeed because we already have the tools to do so. We're both members of a great fitness facility, we know what it means to eat healthy, and now we have some added motivation. We just need to do it already!
We should win the Million Pound Match-Up because we're regular people with weight issues. We're candid and open about our struggles, but so far we've lacked the follow-through to make anything happen. We're finally ready to dig in and we're feeling like we an accomplish this. Believe us, if we can do this, anyone can. the beginning - first weigh-in and goalsHi! We're Joey and Alison - we're a husband and wife from Nebraska looking to lose some weight. We're joining the Million Pound Match-Up as a way to stay motivated to finally shed these extra pounds. Currently we're weighing in at (gulp) 203.4 for Alison (she's 5'9") and 376.6 for Joey (he's 6'2.5") for a combined total of 580 pounds! Yikes. That's a lot when it's all added up there.
Our initial weight loss goal is 43.4 pounds for Alison (to get down to an even 160) and 51.6 pounds for Joey (to get down to an even 325). That's by no means our dream-goal weights (Alison is hoping for 140ish and Joey would like to see 265). But we feel like we need a place to start. That brings it to an initial combined 96 pounds for the two of us - it seems challenging but not insurmountable right now. We will continue to evaluate as we lose weight to come up with final goal weight - the one we can stick to for life!
Check out our starting photos - those should be motivation enough! |
